Plato and more in search of a socio-cultural ideal
This paper analyzes the utopian works of Plato and More in the context of their influence on the development of utopian and sociopolitical thought, as well as the commonality of many of their proposed societal transformations aimed at achieving the sociocultural ideal. Thus, the paper identifies similarities underlying the ideal state of the founders of utopian thought—Plato and More. In today's rapidly changing society, an increasing number of sociocultural aspects are emerging that require special attention. However, many of these are not the causes, but rather symptoms of unresolved socioeconomic problems. By turning to the works of early utopians, we contribute to a more thorough identification of underlying, rather than merely symptomatic, problems. This is not only because they were identified hundreds of years ago, but also because we can trace trends in socioeconomic development to the present day and determine which problems have remained unchanged, which have been resolved, and how this has impacted modern society. One of the significant issues raised by More and Plato is the issue of gender equality and their shared participation in production. Resolving this issue not only freed up new labor resources but also contributed to the establishment of equality not on a formal but a real basis, through the fact that women, over time, became equal economic agents. Identifying other fundamental problems of modern society and proposing solutions for them contributes to the advancement of a society of universal prosperity. The goal is to identify fundamental social problems shared by More and Plato, problems that also exist in the modern world. The objectives are to analyze the problems of Plato's Republic and Thomas More's Utopia, to formulate a common theme, and to examine the resolution of these problems in modern society. Structural-functional, comparative, and typological methods, as well as diachronic, systemic, and essentialist approaches, were used. It was possible to identify a fundamental problem of modern society, which not only has not been resolved, but also contributes to the formation of new, already symptomatic, problems.
Key words: utopia, socio-cultural ideas, philosophy, cultural studies, society, state, equality.

Civilizational theories in Russian science and the problem of Arab-Iberian cultural interaction: N.Ya. Danilevsky, P.A. Sorokin, L.N. Gumilyov
The article critically examines the heuristic potential of three concepts of Russian civilisational thought – N.Ya. Danilevsky's theory of cultural-historical types, P.A. Sorokin's doctrine of sociocultural supersystems, and L.N. Gumilev's theory of ethnogenesis and passionarity – as applied to the problem of Arab-Iberian cultural interaction of the 8th–15th centuries. The aim is to identify both the possibilities and the limitations of each theory in analysing the al-Andalus phenomenon. It is shown that Danilevsky's distinction between "grafting" and "soil fertilisation" effectively describes different models of inter-civilisational influence: Arab influence on the Iberian substratum during the period of the Caliphate functioned as grafting, while the post-Andalusian reception of Arab intellectual heritage by European tradition constituted productive soil fertilisation. His thesis of the impenetrability of cultural-historical types is, however, refuted by the evidence of the Toledo School of Translators. Sorokin's theory allows interpretation of the rise and decline of al-Andalus through the dynamics of cultural supersystems, with its limitation being a tendency toward cyclism that strips historical contingency of explanatory weight. Gumilev's concept reveals an internal contradiction: by qualifying the Arab Caliphate of the 10th century as a chimera, the author himself creates a situation in which the chimera proves to be a space of cultural flourishing – thereby undermining the empirical validity of the concept itself. The productivity of synthesising all three approaches with Yu.M. Lotman's semiotics of culture is substantiated.
Key words: civilisational approach, N.Ya. Danilevsky, P.A. Sorokin, L.N. Gumilev, cultural-historical types, grafting, soil fertilisation, chimera, ethnogenesis, al-Andalus, Arab-Muslim culture, semiosphere, Yu.M. Lotman.

Contemporary problems, challenges, and prospects for the development of architectural mapping
This article is devoted to the analysis of modern problems, challenges, as well as prospects for the development of architectural mapping as one of the most dynamically developing areas of media architecture. The features of the application of projection mapping technologies in the urban environment and architectural spaces are examined. Particular attention is paid to the technological, artistic, and organizational aspects of creating mapping projects, as well as to the influence of digital technologies on the transformation of the perception of architecture and urban space. The purpose of the study is to identify the key trends in the development of architectural mapping and to determine the main problems arising in the process of its implementation. The study employs methods of scientific literature analysis, comparative analysis of practical projects, and generalization of technological solutions. The main directions of the development of architectural mapping have been identified, associated with the introduction of interactive technologies, the use of new software tools, and the expansion of the fields of application of this practice. Architectural mapping has significant potential for the further development of digital art and for the formation of relatively new forms of interaction between the viewer and the architectural environment.
Key words: architectural mapping, digital art, visual technologies, urban environment, interactive technologies.

Traditional ornamentation as a visual code of regional culture (based on the clothing of wrestlers from the North China steppe)
Mongolian wrestling costumes, as a visual carrier of ethnic culture, contain a rich symbolic meaning. Based on the semiotics of Ch. According to J. Pierce, the work examines the patterns of wrestling costumes as an integral symbolic system consisting of "representation", "object" and "interpretation" and analyzes the mechanism of generating meaning from three positions: historical education; form, symbolic meaning and gender representation. It should be noted that although the traditional ornamentation is practically not used in its original meaning in modern times, the cultural connotations of the patterns of the wrestling costume are fixed (Mongolian traditional wrestling was officially included in the national list of intangible cultural heritage in 2006) and are not only a visual code of regional culture, but also a means of intercultural contact.
Key words: ornamentation, visual code, Mongol wrestling, steppe culture.

On the question of interpretation of the concept of "neopaganism"
This article addresses three pressing issues in the study of new religious movements: finding the most accurate definitions for neopagan movements, updating the approach to their classification, and defining neopaganism as a set of specific cultural, rather than merely religious, practices. The article highlights the multifaceted nature of neopaganism as a set of polytheistic ritual practices of modern origin. It proposes classifying neopagan movements based on their geographic area of origin, dividing them into "northern neopaganism" as an established cultural entity and "southern neopaganism" as an emerging cultural entity. It also substantiates the validity of characterizing neopaganism as a subcultural phenomenon.
Key words: subculture, neopaganism, Rodnovery, northern neopaganism, southern neopaganism, Wicca, Krishnaism.

The philosophy of immortalism in modern culture
The main goal of immortality is to prolong human life and eventually achieve unlimited longevity or even physical immortality. Proponents of this movement believe that death is not inevitable and that scientific and technological advancements can significantly increase human life expectancy. Philosophically, immortality raises questions about the meaning and value of human life, and the relationship between the quantity and quality of life. While the pursuit of longevity and the desire to overcome death have been present since ancient times, modern immortality relies on advancements in regenerative medicine, gene therapy, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and other scientific fields that have the potential to significantly increase human lifespan and improve health. However, despite some promising research and experiments, radical life extension and especially the achievement of immortality remain elusive. The philosophy of immortality continues to spark heated discussions about the future of humanity and the ethical implications of "living without death." Despite the growing interest in immortality, it remains a relatively marginalized field, with most scientists expressing skepticism about the prospects of achieving radical longevity and immortality, as well as the ethical implications of such aspirations.
Key words: immortalism, philosophy, life, immortality, science, medicine, health, culture.

In search of the ideal society: utopian socialism
The rise of industrial society during the Industrial Revolution and the bourgeois revolutions led to a clearer division of society along class and social lines. This, in turn, sparked a renewed search for fair social systems capable of ensuring equality, justice, and peace. These ideas were championed by the utopian socialists, most notably Henri de Saint-Simon, Charles Fourier, and Robert Owen. This article explores the common themes in the theoretical views of utopian socialist thinkers. While criticizing the existing social order, they proposed peaceful plans for reorganizing society, based on cooperation among all social groups and an emphasis on labor-oriented education for younger generations. The authors also highlight the development of pre-Marxist social thought, showing how utopian socialism contributed to the emergence of new ideas about organizing society. In this sense, utopian socialism served as an important foundation for later theoretical models of a more just social order.
Key words: utopian socialism, Marxist theory, socialism, communism, progress, Industrial Revolution, working class.

Noospherism of A.I. Subetto as a philosophical response to the challenges of the anthropocene
The article examines A.I. Subetto's noospherism as an original domestic philosophical concept claiming the role of a worldview response to the challenges of the Anthropocene era. The key provisions of noospherism are analyzed: the idea of 'managed socio-natural evolution', the principle of 'all-humanity', the concept of noospheric socialism, the critique of capitalism as a systemic cause of the ecological crisis, and the program of noospheric education. The historical and philosophical prerequisites of noospherism in Russian and world thought are examined. The continuity of noospherism with V.I. Vernadsky's teachings and its difference from Western eco-philosophical concepts are shown. The practical dimension of noospherism in relation to environmental policy objectives is analyzed. Both the heuristic potential and internal contradictions of the concept in relation to the realities of the global ecological crisis are identified.
Key words: noospherism, Anthropocene, Subetto, noosphere, Vernadsky, ecological crisis, socio-natural evolution, co-evolution, noospheric education, environmental justice.

Communitarianism as a new face of liberal conservatism
The article analyses communitarian strategies of overcoming modern ethics crises through rethinking the role played by community in the formation of individual’s values. The article explores the key concepts of communitarianism’s leading authors: C. Taylor, M. Walzer, A. Etzioni, A. McIntyre and M. Sandel. An analysis of these authors’ views on interdependence of individual and collective values, as well as the possibility of the existence of universal ethical norms, allows us to conclude that, despite communitarian critique of liberal ethical universalism, modern communitarian political projects show a tendency towards convergence with liberal conservatism. This is reflected in the recognition of the importance of both community values and universal ethical principles, as well as the adaptation of liberal arguments in a discourse on ethics. This kind of communitarianism is associated with the revealed contradiction between the claim to universal validity and the recognition of the role of community in shaping the values underlying this movement. It is shown that attempts to overcome value incommensurability have not led to complete success, and the practical recommendations of the communitarian authors are mainly of a compromise nature, mitigating the consequences of the problem they identified, but not addressing the root of the latter.
Key words: communitarianism, conservatism, liberalism, applied ethics, A. McIntyre, A. Etzioni, M. Walzer, M. Sandel.

Ethical thought from the «logic of the heart» to the «logic of the mind»
Since the 17th century, the best representatives of humanity, philosophers, lawyers, and historians, have been unable to reach a consensus on whether feelings or cold calculation are more important. They have been grappling with the question of how to act in the right way, based on empathy and compassion, but the heart can lead to misjudgments, making it difficult to perceive others objectively. Alternatively, they have been advocating for rationality and adherence to established norms, but this approach can result in the neglect of individuals in competitive situations. The opinions of the great minds of the modern era were divided on this issue: Adam Smith, Max Scheler, David Hume, and Blaise Pascal believed that the «logic of the heart» should take precedence, and that sensory perception of the world was more important than logical reasoning. On the other hand, Benedict Spinoza, Jeremy Bentham, Immanuel Kant, and John Stuart Mill actively supported the «logic of reason», arguing that emotions, unlike reason, are unstable and highly influenced by external factors.
Key words: «Logic of the heart», «logic of reason», sentimentalism, intuitionism, sympathy, phenomenology, moral arithmetic, rationalism.

The birth of the personaliat: the challenges of forming a new social stratum in a digital society
This article analyzes the formation of a new social stratum – the personaliat – in the context of the digitalization of society and the transition to post-capitalist relations. It examines theoretical approaches to social stratification, beginning with the classical concepts of W.L. Warner and contemporary interpretations, including D. Davydov's ideas about the personaliat as a group whose main resource is audience attention and popularity in the digital environment. It describes the mechanisms by which individuals are transformed into commodities, the lifestyle and work habits of the personaliat, and the internal conflicts of this stratum: between authenticity and monetization, freedom and platform dependence, elite ambitions, and precarious status. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of values, the blurring boundaries between work and personal life, and the risks of burnout and loss of professional identity. In conclusion, it is emphasized that the personaliat is becoming a marker of the global transformation of labor and social relations, generating new challenges for society and researchers.
