The influence of religion on society: orthodoxy in old and new Russia - a study of the role of the Russian orthodox church in the life of society over the centuries

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the influence of Orthodoxy on Russia's social development, both historically and in the present day. It examines the evolution of the Russian Orthodox Church's role as an institution involved in the formation of cultural identity, value orientations, and models of social integration. The study identifies the mechanisms by which religious influence influences educational practices, charity, social service, public morality, and symbolic politics. Particular attention is paid to comparing the pre-revolutionary, Soviet, and post-Soviet periods, allowing us to trace the transformation of religious presence–from an institutionally dominant model to limited and then expanding participation in public life.

Key words: Orthodoxy, Russian Orthodox Church, religion and society, cultural identity, social integration.

Secular Buddhism in the context of the transformation of the Religious identity of modern man

The article examines the phenomenon of secular Buddhism as one of the forms of religious identity transformation in the conditions of late modernity and ideological pluralism. Unlike traditional forms of Buddhist affiliation associated with an institutional community, a doctrinal system, and religious practice within the sangha, secular Buddhism is formed as an individualized model of spiritual self-determination. Within the framework of this approach, the practical and ethical elements of the Buddhist tradition (meditation, work with suffering, ethics of nonviolence) are preserved, while the cosmological and soteriological components of the teaching are often subjected to reduction or reinterpretation. The article proposes to consider secular Buddhism as a model of personalized religious identity, characterized by selective assimilation of elements of tradition, priority of personal experience and weakening of institutional affiliation. Based on the analysis of modern interpretations of Buddhist practice and texts of representatives of secular Buddhism, the main structural characteristics of this model are identified and the issue of the boundaries of religious identity in such forms of spirituality is discussed.

Key words: secular Buddhism, religious identity, personalized religiosity, modernization of Buddhism, postsecular society, individualization of religion, Buddhist practice, contemporary Buddhism.

Onomatodoxy as a necessary condition of Christian philosophy in the works of Alexei Fedorovich Losev

The doctrine of name and word occupies a central place in A.F. Losev's system. The thinker assigns it a fundamental role in philosophy, theology, science, and, in general, human existence.

Key words: Aleksey Fedorovich Losev, onomatology, Christian philosophy, creativity.

The space age: a threat or a blessing. A philosophical analysis

The theme of space has long attracted the attention of philosophers, and this is only natural: the understanding of space is inextricably linked to such fundamental philosophical themes as existence and non-existence, space and nature, space and the essence of human beings, humanism, life and death, the meaning of life, and more. Space offers numerous opportunities for improving the quality of life and expanding human capabilities, but it also presents significant challenges and risks that require careful and responsible consideration. The theme of anthropocosmism aligns with the current context of philosophical research on technology. Philosophical discourse, a critical philosophical approach to understanding the space theme, will allow us to predict possible risks of space exploration and help us to understand the responsibility of each individual for the common well-being. The research methodology is based on socio-philosophical, critical-reflexive, and systemic approaches.

Key words: space, cosmism philosophy, anthropocosmism, human, space resources, Earth, asteroids.

Content overproduction as an existential problem of modernity

The article examines the phenomenon of content overproduction as a complex problem with technical, pedagogical, scientific, and philosophical dimensions. The primary focus is on the existential aspect of this situation. In contrast to previous historical eras, when the locality of cultural markets and limited access to knowledge mitigated the subjective acuteness of perceiving its excess, under conditions of globalization this problem becomes exposed and requires the individual to develop a conscious or implicit behavioral strategy. The article proposes a typology of such strategies: heroic, hedonistic, indifferent, authorial, and reclusive. Special attention is paid to the question of whether any of these strategies can lead to well-being. The author concludes that each strategy entails inevitable losses, and a fundamental elimination of the problem of content overproduction in the foreseeable future seems unlikely.

Key words: content overproduction, globalization, consumption strategies, philosophy of information.

The problem of civilized barbarism or the one-dimensional man

The article draws attention to the interrelation of the sequential natural process – «need – production – consumption». Consumption is singled out as the main subject of research, which is analyzed from the ethical, aesthetic, and civilizational positions. The contribution of authors of various trends and directions of the humanities to the formation and development of the category of need is summarized. It is shown that the development of this term has occurred in connection with civilizational and cultural shifts. The role of the concept of liberalism in the formation of the destructive function of need is especially emphasized. The authors conclude that the current stage is manifested in the hyperbolization of false artificial needs in humans, the simplification of cognition through the imposition of the habit of using artificial intelligence, and the avoidance of the need for self-development, es-pecially creative and intellectual development. The authors introduce the term «civilizational barbarism» as a process associated with the development of civilizational consumer skills.

Key words: civilization, «civilizational barbarism», false needs, artificial intelligence, and individual behavioral patterns.

The fate of spiritual shrines and foundations of the Russian world in the civilization of the 21st century

The first third of the 21st century is filled with extreme anxiety about the fate of humanity, when virtually all treaties and agreements that fostered mutual understanding between countries with widely differing faiths and political systems have ceased to function. Market forces and the emergence of the most destructive form of imperialism for humanity have forced virtually every country to turn to its historical roots in order to survive in the expanding global chaos. The ideas put forward by the best minds of our civilization regarding the achievement of the "cultural unity" of humanity have become an unattainable and romantic dream. Under these conditions, to survive, Russia, in our opinion, must turn to its sacred relics and the historical foundations of the Russian World, which for centuries have saved our country from all historical cataclysms.

Key words: Russian World, national idea, cultural unity, national relic, religion.

The problem of considering philosophy as a type of worldview for modern society

The author aims to explore the problem of philosophy as one of the types of worldview in modern society. To do this, first of all, we distinguish between such concepts as worldview and philosophy – a special type of worldview, which is a set of knowledge, principles, and values. The elements and levels of worldview as a concept are highlighted, its subject is defined, as well as the place of philosophy among the types of worldview. The results show that in the context of the transformation of social relations, the creation of a truly philosophical worldview based on rational as well as scientific assumptions is very relevant.

Key words: worldview, philosophy, sensory level of cognition, rational level of cognition, materialism and idealism.

Digital autonomy in the age of algorithmic governance: the moral choice between simulacrum and authenticity

The article explores the transformation of moral subjectivity in the context of total digitalization and algorithmic governance. The author analyzes how the architecture of digital platforms, based on predictive analytics and behavioral nudging, undermines classical philosophical models of autonomy (from Kant's categorical imperative to Sartre's existential project). A key paradox of modernity is revealed: an individual's desire for self-expression online inevitably leads to the construction of a "simulacrum" of identity – a performative image oriented towards external validation and algorithmic predictability. Under these conditions, moral choice is reduced to the level of ethical conformism or a reactive gesture inscribed within the imposed discursive fields of "filter bubbles." As an alternative, the author substantiates the concept of digital ascesis as a system of conscious practices of resistance. This strategy aims at cultivating a critical distance from the technological environment, preserving cognitive sovereignty, and affirming authentic choice based on responsible self-determination, rather than on algorithmically reproducible behavioral patterns.

Key words: digital autonomy, algorithmic governance, moral choice, simulacrum, authenticity, digital ascesis, ethics, social media, behavioral economics, critical theory.

Philosophical and psychological aspects of personal self-development in society

The article examines the problem of personal self-development at the intersection of philosophy, psychology, and sociology. The interdisciplinary approach makes it possible to study the essence of self-development, the factors, conditions, mechanisms, and strategies of this process, as well as the connection between self-development and the social context. The conflict between socially prescribed norms and personal beliefs, interests, and needs can be a critical point in the self-development process, as it touches upon the fundamental aspects of the individual and society. It is emphasized that effective self-development is not an escape from society, but rather an improvement of the "toolkit" for interacting with it. This involves consistent work on skills, mindset, and mental and physical health, based on knowledge of one's true "Self," which helps in making conscious decisions, building healthy relationships, and finding inner harmony.

Key words: self-development, positive and negative freedom, self-efficiency, self-actualization, self-knowledge, conformity.

Group cohesion as a key characteristic of closed small groups

The article considers closed small groups as one of the types of small groups. The concept of a «closed small group» is formulated based on the results of existing socio-philosophical concepts. A description is given and the differences between closed small groups are derived through their essential features and characteristics: the intensity of intra-group communications, the presence of boundaries, regulation, rejection of individuality, internal structure, etc. Group cohesion is described in detail as a key distinguishing feature of closed small groups. Group cohesion is distinguished on the basis of the emotional, value-oriented component and joint activities. The positions that distinguish cohesion in a closed small group from cohesion in open groups are highlighted, namely: intensity of character, functional imperativeness, duality of nature, instrumental (controlled) formation. Cohesion is a key, significant characteristic of closed small groups, as it acts as a kind of compensation mechanism, the basis of the group's functionality, and also determines the internal climate and stability of the system.

Key words: small group, closed small group, features of a small group, group cohesion, collective, joint activity.

Public reason and algorithmic transparency in the digital state

This article analyzes the compliance of Russian digital public administration practices (using the Gosuslugi portal as an example) with the normative requirements of public reason theory. The author examines emerging standards of algorithmic transparency and explainability in Russia, noting the gap between declared principles and citizens' actual ability to understand the logic of automated decisions. Through the lens of the philosophical concepts of John Rawls and Joseph Habermas, key contradictions are identified between the ideals of discursive democracy and the realities of using complex algorithms ("black boxes"). The article proposes ways to overcome these tensions, including the implementation of Explainable AI (XAI), the legal recognition of the "right to explanation," the publication of algorithm performance criteria, and the institutionalization of public oversight, with the aim of legitimizing algorithmic governance and maintaining trust in the state in the digital age.

Key words: public reason, algorithmic transparency, explainability (Explainable AI), digital state, artificial intelligence, "Gosuslugi", reasoned refusal, discursive democracy, legitimacy, legal regulation, automated decision.

Religiosity of modern Russian youth as a factor in the formation of family values

The purpose of this study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the mechanisms of determining the family values of youth under the influence of the factor of religiosity, as well as to identify the specifics of the transformation of marital and family attitudes in various groups of religious youth. The work is aimed at verifying the hypothesis that the level of church membership and the degree of involvement in religious practices are significant predictors of the preservation of the traditional family model (having many children, stable marriage, hierarchy), countering global trends of atomization and deinstitutionalization of family relations in post-secular Russian society.

The methodological basis of the study. The methodological foundation of the work is based on the synthesis of axiological and subject-activity approaches, which make it possible to consider religiosity as a value-semantic core that constructs the daily practices of an individual. The theoretical basis was formed by the concepts of socio-cultural dynamics (P. Sorokin) and the theory of social capital, in which religious communities are analyzed as institutions for the transmission of intergenerational experience. The empirical part of the study is based on methods of secondary analysis of data from representative all-Russian studies (VTsIOM, FOM, IS RAS), as well as comparative analysis, which allows comparing the structure of family values of church-educated, nominally religious and non-religious youth.

Research results. The study found that religiosity continues to serve as a "protective buffer", preserving attitudes towards the value of official marriage and having many children among young people, while the most pronounced correlation is observed in a group with a high level of institutional churching. The results of the analysis demonstrate that religious youth are characterized by a higher degree of rejection of abortion and divorce, however, there is a trend towards "liberalizing" intra-family relations (switching to a partnership type of family while maintaining a common conservative framework). It has also been revealed that the religious factor contributes to the formation of more sustainable reproductive strategies, which makes it possible to consider religiosity as a significant resource for the implementation of state demographic policy.

Research prospects. The prospects for further study of this issue are related to the need for longitudinal research to track the dynamics of the implementation of stated family values in the real behavior of young people as they grow up. Of particular scientific interest is the analysis of the influence of "digital religiosity" and the activities of religious online communities on the formation of ideas about gender roles and family structure. In addition, an important vector of future work should be a comparative regional analysis that takes into account the specifics of interfaith interaction in various regions of the Russian Federation, which will make it possible to more accurately differentiate the influence of Orthodoxy, Islam and other traditional religions on the transformation of the family institution in modern Russia.

Key words: Religiosity of youth, Russian youth, family values, marital and family attitudes, traditional family, church formation, demographic policy, sociology of religion, sociology of family, postsecular society.

Management of public-private partnership projects based on choosing their optimal model in state and municipal authorities

The article analyzes modern methods of managing public-private partnership projects. Features of project activities in the systems of state and municipal management are considered. It was concluded that the features of modern PPP projects determine the relevance of the use of flexible, adaptive, situational and hybrid approaches that combine elements of various project management methodologies. This requires a high level of tactical flexibility, communication competence and innovation from project participants.

Based on sociological analysis, it was determined that one of the barriers to the transformation of the state and municipal management system is an outdated model of PPP project activities, methods for choosing the optimal form of projects that significantly affect the speed and effectiveness of technology implementation in the public sector.

Key words: project activities, design, public-private partnership, public-municipal partnership, PPP project, flexible project management methods, information technology project management public administration, municipal management, sociology of management.

Time as a resource of power: the temporal component of political intelligence

This article examines a little-studied aspect of political intelligence—its temporal component. It analyzes how the ability to navigate time and switch between the past, present, and future influences the effectiveness of political decisions and managerial activity. It emphasizes that political intelligence is not limited to spatial characteristics (understanding structures, actors, and power), but necessarily includes the ability to work with rhythms, deadlines, cycles, and time perspectives. The concept of "temporal flexibility" is introduced as a key competency of a successful politician or leader. Contemporary time management models and their impact on political leadership are examined. Examples from theory and practice demonstrate that effective management is impossible without integrating retrospective analysis, an accurate diagnosis of the present, and a strategic vision of the future. Particular attention is paid to the challenges associated with errors in temporal focus, such as an obsession with a single time perspective, as well as the need to consider cultural and situational characteristics when developing temporal intelligence.

Key words: political intelligence, temporal intelligence, temporal flexibility, time management, retrospective, present, future, strategic planning, crisis management, leadership, decision making, time perspectives.

From monologue to dialogue: the evolution of models of information policy of public authorities in Russia and the commonwealth of independent states in the era of media consumption transformation

The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the evolution of models of information policy of executive authorities in the Russian Federation and the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (on the example of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Armenia) in the context of a radical transformation of media consumption. The authors focus on the transition from a monological (one-way) model of informing the population to a dialogical (interactive) model, which involves feedback, involvement of citizens in decision-making processes and consideration of public sentiment. Based on the analysis of legal acts, empirical data on the functioning of official websites, accounts in social networks and messengers, as well as the results of expert surveys and sociological studies (VCIOM, UrFU, 2025), the key trends in the transformation of media consumption affecting government communications are identified: audience fragmentation, transition to the "post-platform era", dominance of short formats and video content, the growing importance of bloggers as alternative sources of information. Special attention is paid to the criteria for the effectiveness of information policy in the new conditions, including responsiveness, "grounding" of the agenda, the use of engagement tools and adaptation to changing platforms. It is concluded that hybrid models are being formed in the countries under consideration, combining elements of public communication, departmental PR and e-participation, as well as the increasing role of artificial intelligence technologies and national digital platforms in ensuring information sovereignty. The results of the study can be used to improve the communication strategies of government bodies and in training courses on state information policy.

Key words: information policy, executive authorities, Russia, CIS, dialogue model, media consumption transformation, government communications, digital sovereignty, social networks, messengers, artificial intelligence.

A study of gender stereotypes in the political sphere from a methodological point of view

Gender stereotypes form a person's understanding and understanding of what is typical and characteristic of a female or male representative in the field of politics. Depending on changes in society, gender stereotypes also change, as well as the degree of their influence. This article provides a comprehensive methodological analysis of gender stereotypes in the political sphere. The study identifies the strengths and weaknesses of each approach relative to the main research area. Thus, five most relevant methodological approaches were identified: an integrated (systemic) approach, structural functionalism, essentialism, social constructivism, and intersectional analysis. All of them have special advantages. In addition to describing the methods, they are also compared in order to determine a more relevant method for studying the influence of gender stereotypes in political processes. These methods will provide up-to-date data on changes in gender stereotypes and the degree of their influence on the political sphere.

Key words: gender, gender equality, gender stereotypes, women in politics, women's rights, stereotypes in politics, analysis of political stereotypes, methodological analysis, changes in society.

Mind-scrolling and subjective fears among young people in a permanent crisis: an empirical analysis using the example of the Luhansk People's Republic

The study is devoted to the impact of mind-scrolling on the social well-being of the youth of the LPR in the conditions of hostilities. Based on a survey of 1,500 respondents, the extremely low prevalence of mind-scrolling was revealed, despite the high level of fears. The author concludes that in a permanent crisis, the population adapts to negative information, avoiding its excessive consumption, and mind-scrolling is more discrete than permanent.

Key words: mindscrolling, social well-being, social fears, youth, theory of cultivation.

Anthropology of smells: the aromas of power

Power is one of the most complex instruments of social control. The smartest people have been struggling to unravel its nature for thousands of years. The lack of a clear understanding of the essence of power does not prevent the expansion of the arsenal of power influence. Fragrances have also fallen into it. If in the past their use was hidden, then in our time various political forces, public and government figures openly announce their political programs, using everything related to the production of perfumes: their formula, name, packaging. And they achieve success.

Key words: power, society, history, social anthropology, olfactory research, aromas.

Culture as a factor in the formation of a person's value-worldview model

In modern scientific research, concepts such as "culture," "cultural value," and "cultural code" are largely controversial, primarily due to the difficulties and ambiguity of defining the concepts themselves. Furthermore, in today's information society, ideas about both the concepts themselves and the values that comprise a person's ideological model are transforming. Values themselves are increasingly correlated with the concept of an object of consumption. This article presents an analysis of a person's personal culture as a factor in the formation of a person's value-worldview model.

Key words: society, person, values, worldview, transformation, representation, civilization, personality, ideological model, content, analysis.

Ethnonational and religious as determinants of cultural development

Russia occupies a unique position in the global geopolitical and cultural space, largely due to its multinational and multi-confessional composition. The formation of the Russian cultural space has taken place through the long-term interaction of various ethnic groups, religions, and civilizational traditions. The article analyzes the significance of ethnic and religious factors as important determinants of the development of Russian culture. Particular attention is focused on the problem of the formation of the ethnocultural and religious identity of the peoples of Russia, as well as on identifying the relationship between ethnic, religious, national, and civilizational values. The paper examines conceptual approaches of contemporary philosophers and cultural scholars to the interpretation of cultural processes and the Eurasian model of civilizational development. It is concluded that traditional spiritual and moral values, formed on the basis of ethnic and religious traditions, can serve as an important factor in social consolidation and the further cultural development of Russia in the context of modern global transformations.

Key words: Russia, culture, ethnicity, people, nation, religion, civilization, Eurasianism.

Private family opera troupes in the Ming Dynasty

This article examines the development of private family opera troupes in the Ming Dynasty under the influence of state policy. Initially restricted by strict government regulations during the early Ming, such troupes were primarily maintained by vassal princes performing Northern Opera with themes of loyalty and filial piety. As censorship weakened from the mid-Ming onwards, literati, officials, and wealthy merchants increasingly established their own troupes, leading to a golden age of private opera, particularly in the Jiangnan area. The study highlights how these troupes adapted to political pressures, transforming from simple entertainment into refined artistic institutions that significantly shaped the evolution of Chinese opera.

Key words: Ming Dynasty, private house opera troupes, opera restriction policies, scholar-official culture, history of Chinese opera.

The "black box" of theater: who is the author of a multimedia performance? (the problem of authorship in the digital age of musical theater)

The article addresses the problem of the "invisible co-author" in modern musical theater – the multimedia specialist whose creative interpretation remains legally unrecognized. The novelty of the research lies in its interdisciplinary approach: at the intersection of art history, law, and philosophy of technology, the phenomenon of the "black box" is analyzed as a zone of uncertainty between technical execution and artistic creation. For the first time in academic discourse, a fundamental difference between opera and ballet in the aspect of multimedia synchronization is introduced: while ballet, due to its plastic nature, allows automation and "blurred" video boundaries, opera, rigidly tied to the score and the live breath of the conductor, requires exclusively manual control, making the figure of the technical intermediary critically significant. Based on interviews with directors D.N. Kostsov (production of "The Barber of Seville," 2026) and E.A. Malaya (Mariinsky Theatre, "The Magic Flute," 2022), a four-level model of specialist involvement is introduced. The author argues that the existing practice of assigning authorship does not correspond to the actual distribution of creative efforts and requires revision in both legal and ethical dimensions.

Key words: authorship, multimedia, technical specialist, musical theater, opera, ballet, digital technologies, co-authorship, intellectual property rights, "black box", philosophy of technology, interpretation, synchronization, Civil Code of the Russian Federation.

Contemporary problems, challenges, and prospects for the development of architectural mapping

This article is devoted to the analysis of modern problems, challenges, as well as prospects for the development of architectural mapping as one of the most dynamically developing areas of media architecture. The features of the application of projection mapping technologies in the urban environment and architectural spaces are examined. Particular attention is paid to the technological, artistic, and organizational aspects of creating mapping projects, as well as to the influence of digital technologies on the transformation of the perception of architecture and urban space. The purpose of the study is to identify the key trends in the development of architectural mapping and to determine the main problems arising in the process of its implementation. The study employs methods of scientific literature analysis, comparative analysis of practical projects, and generalization of technological solutions. The main directions of the development of architectural mapping have been identified, associated with the introduction of interactive technologies, the use of new software tools, and the expansion of the fields of application of this practice. Architectural mapping has significant potential for the further development of digital art and for the formation of relatively new forms of interaction between the viewer and the architectural environment.

Key words: architectural mapping, digital art, visual technologies, urban environment, interactive technologies.

Key legal aspects of preserving cultural and historical heritage in the digital sphere

The contemporary world cannot be imagined without innovative technologies, the Internet, artificial intelligence, and vast databases in the information field, just as state sovereignty is impossible without cultural heritage and historical memory. In this article, the author examines such concepts as “digital legacy,” “cultural heritage,” and “cultural heritage in the digital sphere.” The study investigates key aspects of forming and developing a legal framework aimed at preserving Russia's cultural and historical heritage in the digital environment. The author provides definitions for main terms. The paper reviews foundational strategic planning documents oriented towards digitizing processes to preserve cultural and historical heritage. After carefully studying these documents, the author concludes that there are insufficient legal aspects in this area. The state must actively engage in the process of preserving cultural and historical heritage in the digital domain, while legal regulation in this important issue should continuously modernize and adapt to the realities of the contemporary world.

Key words: cultural heritage, memory, history, project activities, generational memory, digitalization, internet, information technology, legal regulation.

Opera performances in the Ming Dynasty court under the state policy

During the Ming Dynasty, opera performances in the imperial court were managed primarily by two institutions: the Zhonggu Department and the Jiaofang Department. The Zhonggu Department, staffed by eunuchs, served the emperor’s personal entertainment and performed a variety of operatic and acrobatic shows. The Jiaofang Department, under the Ministry of Rites, handled state banquets and official ceremonies. Despite early restrictions on opera, both departments adapted by incorporating folk operas such as Yiyang, Haiyan, and Kunqu tunes. By the late Ming, court opera flourished, reflecting broader cultural exchanges and the court’s evolving tastes.

Key words: Ming Dynasty, court opera, Zhonggu Department, Jiaofang Department, folk opera.
